Crimp Terminals

What is a Crimp Terminal?

Crimp Terminal are manufactured by MG Electrica, a leading Electrical component manufacturing company. We offer Crimp Terminal of various standards. It is a solder-less electrical connection and is used to terminate stranded wire by inserting the stripped end of the wire into part of the terminal. This terminal is then compressed around the wire, therefore rendering it gas-tight. Barrel-type crimp connections have an oval shape, whereas in open-barrel crimp connections, the section to be crimped has a V or U shape.

A terminal is the point at which a conductor from an electrical component, device or network comes to an end and provides a point of connection to external circuits. A terminal may simply be the end of a wire or it may be fitted with a connector or fastener. In network analysis, terminal means a point at which connections can be made to a network in theory and does not necessarily refer to any real physical object.

The connection may be temporary, as seen in portable equipment, may require a tool for assembly and removal, or may be a permanent electrical joint between two wires or devices.

Types of Crimp Terminals

There are several different kinds of crimp terminals. The most common types are categorized by Style, Wire Gauge, Size, Type and Packaging Type.

Applications for Crimp Terminals:

Crimp terminals allow the wires to be easily terminated to screw terminals, quick-disconnect / spade-foot / fast-on type terminals, wire splices and various types of combinations.
