Cable Connectors:
Ever wondered what is the metal piece between two wires?
Well, its a cable connector (also known as butt connectors). Cable connectors are devices used for connecting cables to other cables.
The part of a cable that plugs into a port or interface to connect one device to another. Most connectors are either male (containing one or more exposed pins) or female (containing holes in which the male connector can be inserted).
Cable Connectors are lugs crimped to the ends of cables and these connectors provide the best electrical joint between two cable. The joint serves in both mechanical strength and as well as electrical strength . It may be provided with safety covering to avoid shocks and short circuits.
The Image below illustrates how cable connectors are used in connections. The red colour covering is the protective covering to the cable connector. One end of the connector is crimped to the the socket wires; And the other end is to be crimped to another cable.

- Material : ETP Grade Copper BS 1977 : 1976
- Finish : Electro Tinned to avoid oxidation and to achieve maximum corrosion protection.
- Annealing : To avoid cracking during crimping.
- Internal Taper at both ends to ease the introduction of cable.
- Dimple if required to ensure correct positioning.
- Manufactured as per DIN46235, IEC61238, Australia and Indian Standards.
2. Aluminum cable connectors :
- Material : Conductive Aluminum 60% IACS
- Finish : Polished Aluminum
- Size’s : From 1.5 Sqmm to 1000Sqmm
