Bimetallic Lugs
Bimetallic Lugs are used where an aluminium cable is terminated to a copper busbar or contact. A copper-only or aluminium-only lug would set up galvanic corrosion; here the aluminium barrel is friction-welded to the copper palm so the joint stays electrically sound. Conductivity aluminium barrel (~60% IACS) with copper palm (~97% IACS), fully annealed, typically 16 to 1000 sqmm.
